Sold Out – 2011 Pinot Noir

So, farewell then, 2011 Battle of Bosworth Pinot Noir. The inaugural Battle of Bosworth Pinot Noir is no more.  If you are lucky, you might find some around the traps in fine wine shops, or if you happen to be in London you can slide by one of the 3 (or is it 4?) highly acclaimed Hawksmoor restaurants and treat yourself to a glass or bottle of it. The Hawksmoor restaurants serve the best steaks in London, so they say. Have a look at their wine list on their website here

Nick Stock who rates over 1500 wines in the Age and Sydney Morning Herald Good Wine Guide 2013 thought it was pretty good – even though it was a Pinot Noir from McLaren Vale, saying that we’d ‘made a decent fist of it‘ and gave it 90 points

Luckily the 2012 version is due for release as soon as Joch gets off the beach and back into the tasting room to check on its progress. The 2012 only went into bottle a few weeks ago, and sometimes it can take a wine a bit of time to settle down after the trauma of being bottled. I’ll keep you up to date with it.
